Zone Preventive Maintenance Associate - Electrical

UNL Building Systems Maintenance seeks an individual with skills and experience in installing, inspecting, diagnosing, and servicing all electrical related systems. Interpret and use schematics and blueprint drawings to complete the installation and troubleshooting of electrical conduit systems, wiring and device termination in a commercial construction setting. Ensure compliance with regulations including all applicable Building, Electrical and Fire Codes, University and departmental standards and guidelines. Perform all phases of general, aesthetic, and preventive maintenance within supervisor's specific guidelines. Responsible for assisting Zone Preventive Maintenance Senior and Zone Preventive Maintenance Lead on tasks and projects related to the systematic inspection, detection, and correction of incipient failures of equipment or facilities either before they occur or before they develop into major defects. This position works independently on tasks and performs moderately complex to complex tasks with varying levels of supervision. This position will be expected to interact with customers and other employees in a professional manner that enhances work effectiveness for the zone Preventive Maintenance crew.

Must be available 24/7 by personal cell phone to support daily operations and respond to campus emergencies, as well as periodic on-call rotations on weekends and after hours.

Position may be hired at a higher level to include foreman duties depending on operational needs and candidate qualifications. Foreman level position includes training and overseeing others and confirmation of scope, schedule, and budget requirements on all work assignments and coordinate changes in a timely manner.
