Job Summary:

The Custodial Worker is a part-time contractor position that will perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment. This role involves collaboration with adults in our Supported Employment service to fulfill contract requirements. May work on multiple contracts during the course of the day, as directed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: 

Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors in assigned areas.
Dispose of trash and recycling in designated areas.
Restock supplies such as paper products and soap.
Maintain a safe work environment by promptly reporting hazards or needed repairs.
Assist in preparing rooms or areas for events, as needed.
Use and maintain cleaning equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
Follow all organizational safety and cleanliness standards.
Collaborate respectfully and effectively with team members to complete tasks.
Travel to assigned contract(s) based on contract specifications.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in custodial or janitorial work is preferred.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of safe handling practices to include proper use of chemicals, machinery and tools.

Working Conditions: 

Indoor work with exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Physical labor, including bending, lifting, and prolonged standing.
May occasionally be required to use equipment or materials that exceed 50 lbs.
