Overview: V2X has been at the forefront of electromagnetic spectrum engineering and digital systems integration for clients for more than 30 years. V2X is hiring multiple E3 and Electrical Engineers that range in seniority to assess electromagnetic integration challenges and solutions space for radar and other sensor systems on current Navy platforms and platforms in development. Candidates should have interest in performing computational analysis, testing and evaluations of US Navy ships radars, wireless communication systems, and antennas. This position is located full-time on-site at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). This role requires infrequent travel < 25% of the time. Potential to be on travel at a government site (CONUS and OCONUS) and/or underway on US Navy ships for 7-14 days for test events. This position requires an active DoD Secret Clearance. Responsibilities: Provide total life-cycle support for radar systems beginning with up-front Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) related engineering support during development. Conduct characterization analyses and develop mitigation options for predictions of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) with new and installed radar systems. Perform computational analysis of Electromagnetic interference (EMI) or compatibility (EMC) for US Navy ships Spectrum Dependent Systems (SDS). Travel to government sites and/or aboard US Navy ships for test or certification events. Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s (4 year) degree from an accredited College or University in a related STEM field. Computational analysis of radar systems RF emissions using MATLAB or Python. Demonstrated experience in theoretical and practical aspects of research, development, test, engineering, or integration of Navy Radars. RF test instrument experience (i.e., spectrum analyzer, signal generator, filters, couplers, and blankers). US Navy ship engineering field experience or prior USN service. Skills: The following skills are necessary: Knowledge of US Navy ships Spectrum Dependent Systems (SDS) to include radar, Electronic Warfare (EW), and communications systems. Professional engineering documentation and writing skills, including the ability to interpret engineering test plans and procedures. The following skills are preferred and highly desired: Understanding of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) concepts. RF systems field testing.
