. Join the Retail team in Yellowstone National Park!

Retail Associates take pride in helping guests find and purchase the perfect items to remind them of their vacation forever! We don’t sell souvenirs; we sell memories! Our Gift Shops provide a variety of items for guests to purchase while they are in Yellowstone, most of which are sustainable, regionally made and sourced, and/or made in the USA. We think that every guest who visits should be able to take home a memory of Yellowstone, and we provide items at a variety of price points. Each of our 9 stores has a different theme and sells different merchandise. Sales Associates have an in-depth knowledge of all of our products and have a passion for assisting guests with finding the perfect items and gifts to remember their Yellowstone experience. The Details
  • Position Type: Seasonal (April-October 2021)
  • Start Date: April 2021
  • Schedule: Varies – ~40+ hours per week
  • Location: Throughout Yellowstone National Park


What We Provide

  • Simple living in the world’s first National Park with low-cost housing (dormitory style), meals (cafeteria style), and Wi-Fi (limited bandwidth) provided
  • A low-cost bimonthly deduction covers three meals a day, your dorm room, and all associated utilities (including limited Wi-Fi) and the use of in-house laundry facilities.

Responsibilities

Applicants for a Retail job will be considered for the following positions, based on skill levels and business needs.


Retail Associate

  • Responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of Yellowstone’s Gift Shops in addition to working with guests to help them find the perfect memory. As such, a willingness to learn about the products we sell is important.
  • Make sure your store stays well-stocked and well-merchandised.
  • Perform a variety of duties, including cashiering, stocking shelves, dusting, sweeping, and general cleaning.
  • Upselling is an important part of working in the Gift Shops, and you should be willing to learn and use add-on sales techniques.

Retail Management

Retail Receiving and Inventory Clerk

Qualifications

  • Applicants should have some experience in customer service
  • Cash handling experience is preferred
  • Our cash registers use Windows-based software so the ability to learn and use a new computer program is essential
  • This job is a fairly physical position. Associates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (like a large bag of dog food), go up and down stairs multiple times a day, and stand on their feet for 8 hours a day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
