Yellowstone National Park Lodges operates 31 restaurants within the park that range from fast-casual to fine dining. Approximately 2 million meals are served in Yellowstone every summer! Our parent company, Xanterra Travel Collection, strives to use local and/or organic ingredients whenever possible for both guest and employee meals. The Details

  • Position Type: Seasonal (April-October 2021)
  • Start Date: April 2021
  • Schedule: Varies – ~40+ hours per week
  • Location: Throughout Yellowstone National Park


What We Provide

Responsibilities

Applicants for a Bartender job will be considered for the following positions, based on skill levels and business needs. Both AM and PM shifts are available.


Bartender

  • Responsible for providing great guest service by mixing quality cocktails, pouring a proper draft, and decanting wine to achieve the best taste.

Cocktail Server

  • Offer our guests alcoholic beverages and appetizers in one of our many lounges or bars.
  • You must have some experience and be 21 years old or older.


Barista

  • The Barista position requires a combination of skills that include great guest service and making a good latte! Hot beverages, including cappuccino, lattes, and espresso, are prepared using our sophisticated coffee machines.
  • Baristas in some locations also serve alcoholic beverages and must be age 21 or older.
All positions will be required to:
  • Perform all duties toward the goal of providing excellent guest service efficiently.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Accurately record and enter all food (where applicable) and beverage items into the POS system; produce, pick up, garnish and serve food and beverages promptly to guests; collect and process forms of payment; ensuring guest satisfaction throughout.
  • Maximize sales by using menu knowledge and suggestive selling techniques. Motivate and educate staff in up-selling and wine salesmanship. Ensure established standards of beverage service are met.
  • Offer and serve alcoholic beverages while adhering to established Xanterra alcohol policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of lounge and service areas. Ensure work area is orderly and properly stocked.
  • Collect accurate payment from the guest and depositing the exact amount of sales.

Qualifications

  • Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly: Service procedures, beverage and food menus as appropriate, Aloha point of sales.
  • Knowledge of brands, selections and recipes helpful.
  • Computer experience and knowledge of ordering procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation.
  • Certification in the TIPS alcohol awareness program is required. Workshops will be provided if not currently certified.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods, approximately 8 hours.
  • Must be able to walk for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods.
