Position Overview
The Division of Development Disabilities is seeking to hire a Hearing & Speech Advanced Specialist for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest, Illinois to plan and develop the audiology and speech/language program. Manages contractual Speech Pathology services; performs audiometric assessments and diagnostic evaluations; provides audiological and hearing aid services for individuals; participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary (ID) Teams. Provides in-service training to facility and community staff; participates as a member of facility committees; provides technical assistance to community agencies.
Job Responsibilities
Plans and develops the audiology and speech/language program for Ludeman Developmental Center.
Performs audiometric assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
Performs hearing aid orientation classes or individual session for individuals in need.
Obtains ear mold impressions for custom ear molds.
Serves as a member of facility committees.
Develops and conducts in-service and pre-service training for the Center and Community Agencies, on such topics as communication, hearing aids and their maintenance, and Telecommunication Devices for the Deaf usage.
Attends and actively participates in training.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
