JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Leidos Defense Group has an immediate career opportunity for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer Leadbased at San Antonio, Texas.

This position is the technical principal lead in support of the Air Force Personnel Operation Activity contract at Randolph AFB, which is transferring all on premise applications and systems into a cloud (AWS) environment.

The Senior Cloud DevSecOps Engineer Lead is the cloud team principal responsible for technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding.

Evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.

Duties include performing strategic systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance. Advocates on behalf of the entire program for changes and updates for strategic results.

Primary Responsibilities:
Serves as a technical lead on this large complex multi-million dollar program affecting over 650K personnel world-wide.
Provides technical advice/input that impacts strategic client outputs and Leidos business results.
Impacts functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.
Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program.
Leads the development of highly innovative products/solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field.
Analyzes and builds complex cloud applications with databases, including web applications and user interfaces, refactor the design, build applications, test, deploy, and cut-over and maintain the application.
Develops technical program documentation such as end-user operational instructions, software descriptions, interface documents, and data migration documents.
Consults with stakeholders/ users to develop formal user requirements and translate those into application/database design, write interfaces to external applications or databases, conduct unit/functional testing, monitor UAT testing, and transition the applications/databases to production.
Design and deploy scripts and programs to automate securing and hardening of AWS instances.
Work closely with IA to determine security requirements, PII, accreditations and/or other concerns.
Support SOC capabilities by customizing tools and automating processes for SOC and IR analysts.
Develop code (e.g., Python, Powershell, Django, Javascript, HTML, CSS), to interact with Rest APIs and API driven security technologies to automate security tasks (e.g., VirusTotal, Splunk ES, Tanium, etc.) aimed at removing human errors and human inconsistencies.
Mentors and coaches other technical staff.

Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree with 15-20 years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13-16 years of prior relevant experience or additional relevant experience in lieu of Master's.
An active Secret Clearance is required.
Experience with proven design principles and Open Source technologies.
Experience with AWS.
Experience with Chef server deployment and programming.
Experience with MVC Web Application to manage EC2 instances and reduce conflicts across AWS environments.
Experience building Team Foundation Server (TFS) for Test/Dev environments.
AWS Certified Developer Certification or equivalent.
Must have Security + (DoD 8570 series IAT Level II Certification) before hiring.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of lifecycle process for software development, web applications, and system implementation.
Languages: C#, Java, ISP, XHTML, Java, ASP .Net, RDBMS, SQL, Oracle.
Agile development using SAFe/ SCRUM framework.
RESTful APIs using JSON or other API scripting for automation.
Virtual containerized portable environment technologies such as Docker; PKI and PKI/RSA tools including OpenSSL.
CISSP.
PMP.
