There are petabytes of data stored around the world, and we want to ensure that our customers sleep soundly at night knowing that their data is securely protected from unexpected loss. AWS Backup is a fully managed solution that makes it easy to centralize and automate backing up application data. We are building a backup management service that can scale without limits, allowing customers to backup their data across thousands of accounts and getting reports on all their backed up resources. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the pioneer and recognized leader in the Cloud. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who will work with an outstanding team to create high scale distributed services that expand the reach and functionality of data backup in AWS. In this role, you will own solutions from design and execution through deployment and support, building and testing large scale distributed systems that are highly available for thousands of AWS customers. You will be responsible for holding the code quality high, even as we optimize our software development processes to better serve our customers. You should be invested in helping our enterprise users protect their data in all accounts across the entire organization efficiently and effectively.

The AWS Backup team has a breadth of experience ranging from veteran engineers with over 20 years in the industry to recent college hires. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.
Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
