Stationary Engineer (Boiler Technician/Boiler Operator) (Part-Time)
Where:  Curtis Bay, Maryland (USCG Yard)

Type:  Part-time, On-call, Non-Exempt

Compensation: $31.07/hr.

Work Schedule: Part-time, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shift, Monday – Sunday and Holidays as scheduled

Benefits: Pro-rated vacation days, sick leave, and paid holidays

Skookum is seeking a flexible and reliable Stationary Engineer with a helpful attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Repairs and troubleshoots steam and/or Compressed Air Systems malfunctions to include water treatment systems.
Coordinates and performs preventative maintenance on boilers, air compressors and other Central Plant equipment.
Utilizes wire diagrams, schematics, blueprints and drawings to guide repairs and maintenance.
Ensures completed work meets quality control standards.
Assists with orienting and training new employees and assists in work assignments.
Qualifications:
Licensed by the State of Maryland as Grade 1 Stationary Engineer required.
Must be able to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
Be able to work independently or in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
Must be able to provide customer service in a professional and courteous manner.
Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Requirements:

Valid state Driver license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance carrier.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
