Position Overview Section
We are seeking a Vehicle Control Manager (VCM) to oversee and maintain the unit's vehicle program. The VCM will manage a diverse fleet, including GSA contract vehicles, military vehicles, ATVs, and Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs). This role is hands-on, requiring strong organizational skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to ensure all vehicles are safe, functional, and mission-ready.
Essential Job Functions
Manage the unit's vehicle program, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidance.
Repair, rebuild, or overhaul small engines and vehicle systems.
Track and report vehicle utilization with accurate databases/spreadsheets.
Conduct daily inspections, document discrepancies, and coordinate repairs.
Maintain vehicles in mission-ready condition (clean, fueled, serviceable).
Issue and receive vehicles during standard duty hours.
Provide quarterly fleet status reports to the Commander.
Minimum Position Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 6 months of experience as a vehicle custodian or equivalent.
Knowledge of vehicle management/accountability programs and small engine repair (ATV/4WD experience preferred).
Ability to perform light/medium maintenance using standard tools.
Completion of small engine repair training or prior vehicle manager experience preferred.
Must be able to obtain forklift and ATV certifications.
Strong English communication skills (read, write, speak clearly).
