JOB SUMMARY

Through utilization of the nursing process, the RN provides comprehensive nursing care and the therapeutic presence to adult (18-65) and geriatric (65+) behavioral health and substance abuse patients under the direction of the Assistant Director, EHRC Inpatient services. Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the patient care processes for inpatient services in the role of charge nurse. A contributing member of the treatment team, participating in case management activities.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and/or experience: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee required. BSN preferred. Previous experience with behavioral health treatment preferred.

Knowledge: Working knowledge of nursing process. Knowledge of Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse, in nursing & of the therapy processes inherent to an inpatient behavioral health service required.

Skills: Good communication and problem solving skills as needed. Proficiency on the computer with Word & Excel preferred.

Abilities: Must exhibit positive attitude, professionalism and patience in all interactions. Ability to be self directed and provide leadership and direction to inpatient services.
