Registered Nurse – COVID-19 Screening

Job Purpose
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for performing COVID-19 nasal-pharyngeal testing at testing site(s). Will also supervise Licensed Vocational Nurse and may also be designated as the Event Oversite Administrator (EOA)
Duties and Responsibilities
Temperature checks for all event staff prior to the start of the event.
Oversight of any event staff reporting onset of symptoms or fever during event participation.
Supervision and guidance of non-clinical staff regarding PPE.
Collection and handling of testing specimens.
Instruction and supervision of the attendee during collection.
If designated as the EOA, ensures event guidelines are being followed, flow of event is efficient, and may assist in working other stations to cover breaks.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse License
Familiar with nasal-pharyngeal swabbing
Flexible schedule
Basic knowledge of clinical procedures, medical terminology; ability to communicate effectively (oral/written)
Ability to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with people, both internal and external customers
Maintain a calm demeanor while completing multiple tasks
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrates the ability to accept, implement, and evaluate change
Appropriately completes documentation of patient care
Good overall health: able to stand for 2-hour intervals and lift 20 pounds
No known exposure to coronavirus or those with COVID-19 symptoms
Willing, if needed, to be tested for COVID-19
Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE – mask, gloves, goggles, coveralls) for 2-hour intervals
