QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Engaging in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from gathering requirements to integration and deployment
Applying a systems-thinking approach to build scalable, sustainable solutions that align with user needs
Maintaining clear, effective communication with team members and customer stakeholders
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a STEM major (preferred) with 5 years of related professional experience or Master's degree in a STEM major with 3 years of experience related professional experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Hands-on development experience with Java and C++ in Linux environments
Familiarity with version control tools like Git, GitHub, or GitLab
Background working in Agile and DevOps frameworks, with knowledge of associated tools and methodologies
Strong organizational skills to prioritize and adapt tasks to meet deadlines and deliverables
Ability to assess and resolve complex technical challenges
Proficient in both verbal and written communication, including collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and delivering presentations to customers
Highly motivated and focused on customer satisfaction
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices
Background in Air & Missile Defense systems or similar programs
Familiarity with sensors and fire control technologies
Working knowledge of scripting tools/languages like Python, MATLAB, etc.
Experience contributing to projects under CMMI Level 3 or higher standards
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with military and government clients
Current Security+ Certification
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
