Position Summary:
Reporting to the Products Manager, this position will manage and lead OEM and Distribution product development and product launches, commercialization, with financial alignment supporting the General Industry business for Commercial Systems.
This includes the financial planning in STRAT, AOP and measured through sales revenue of the budgeted products. There will be reporting and pulsing of bi-monthly projects and metrics performance with the Products Manager. Taking the lead in identifying the development of custom and stock catalog products and managing our Commercial Stock portfolio. General product management support for the Commercial portfolio of products working directly with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Customers as needed.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Analyze market conditions and competitors to determine what products should be developed with justification for requirements, and timeline for development.
  • Define & Execute Marketing strategy for a product or product line and provide direction to engineering and sales.
  • Support new product development (NPD) with engineering and sourcing teams and develop production forecast and timeline for product launch.
  • Manage lifecycle of all products offered within Commercial Systems GI, which includes maintaining all product related data within ERP (Item Master), PIM, Website and E-Commerce.
  • Execute market research/competitive analysis for new and existing products to ensure market share gain throughout product lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain competitive cross tables to support sales team and Distribution channel with up-to-date information.
  • Utilize 80/20 Methodology to drive improved efficiency and execute product line standardization, platform simplification, energy efficiency legislation compliance, best value countries (BVC), Value Added Value Engineering (VAVE), quality and packaging working with global engineering, sourcing, operations and SIOP (planning/forecasting) teams.
  • Lead and coordinate product line cost reductions/rationalizations, and coordinate with manufacturing strategy.
  • Work closely with pricing team to analyze product cost data and support market pricing strategy development (Market/Platform/Quad), while introducing new products and maintaining current stock portfolio.
  • Support Financial Planning in STRAT, AOP, and measured through sales revenue of the budgeted products.
  • Lead in identifying the development of stock catalog products with product line extensions that enhance product family offering and increase sales revenue.
  • Support sales and engineering teams in identification and development of OEM products that are aligned with product strategy and MGPP by identifying market and technology trends, competitive assessment and customer input to support and align with business strategies that promote growth.
  • General product management support for the Stock Catalog (paper and digital), product brochures and campaigns.
  • Support Regal sourcing with supplier relations for Commercial products to ensure competitive position for products and pricing.
  • DCX Tools, Website and E-Commerce lead for Commercial product management, working closely with Marketing and PIM team to make sure product attributes, features/benefits and images are aligned.
  • Perform technical product training (verbal and written) on Commercial products utilizing PowerPoint slide creation, product videos, sales team communications and technical articles.
  • Maintain expert level of product, application and systems knowledge; both new and obsolete material.
  • Perform data analysis for stock and OEM products tied to assigned product families for management reviews or as needed to evaluate success of product through sales, cost/SP or inventory comparisons.
  • Become systems expert in: Oracle (item master and business intelligence-BI); PLM Edge (engineering tracking system for new motor requests-NMR's and engineering change requests-ECR's); Accolade (NPD’s) and Informatica (PIM) to support product lifecycle and promote sales growth.
  • Lead and support strategic initiatives as they align with job function and Regal values.
  • Support alternate Product marketing activities as directed which may include trade shows, customer visits, etc. in order to promote Commercial products.
Qualifications
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience. 5+ years. Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma within 3 years. Engineering or other technical background preferred.
  • The candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong technical aptitude.
  • Leadership skills; can do attitude, minimal supervision
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
