Today we are redefining how sellers and third party solution providers connect their solutions with Amazon through Selling Partner REST APIs and related programmatic access mechanisms, including push notifications, feeds, and reports. Today, thousands of sellers and developers use these tools for Sellers to manage and grow their business at scale, and we want to ensure every incremental new investment in our technologies is based on keen insight and obsession with our customers.

We are looking for a candidate who will help shape this future. Specifically, we are looking for a world-class Principal Product Manager to own the vision, roadmap, and development of API products by internal business and technical teams. In this role, you will partner with external developers and internal teams to dive deep into selling partner use cases and requirements, shape and drive the product strategy, priorities, and roadmap that focuses on developer and selling partner experience, user adoption, and operational excellence.

The right individual will be a proven leader with drive and competencies to envision the right experience for developers, drive execution, and scale the product suite to match the customer demand.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Driving the end state vision for the end-to-end API as a product experience
  • Leading innovation, define & maintain the product roadmaps for both core control plane features, APIs, and other programmatic access mechanisms over a 3 year vision
  • Working with in-house technology and business leaders as well as software teams to identify, prioritize, and build new features and projects through all stages of the API product lifecycle
  • Partnering with API teams to formulate sound API business objectives, strategy, design and launch plans.
  • Analyzing the potential customer and financial impact that drive internal team's understanding of API ROI to their core metrics
  • Scaling the API Onboarding experience and associated programs and operations
  • Serving as a thought leader and evangelize API First and API-as-a-Product Development through Selling Partner Services
  • Developing API migration, deprecation and versioning strategies to facilitate new API adoption while preserving the developer experience
  • Protecting customer trust through roles and permissions and adherence to data sharing policies
  • Identifying and incorporating learnings from industry trends in API innovation, design paradigms, and authoring technology.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or technology, or equivalent experience working in eCommerce or technology organizations.
  • 7+ years relevant experience including product and program management
  • Proven track record in developing and launching products/services and translating customer needs into business/product requirements.
  • Experience establishing goals and metrics to identify and measure opportunities and success.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present to varying levels of leadership team members and to external parties.
  • Sound business judgement and the ability to influence others.
