Daily Tasks:

·         Perform scheduled and as needed maintenance on diesel engines

·         Diagnoses and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues

·         Reads meters monthly

·         Maintains city streetlights and power line easements

·         Complete fuel transfers

·         Weekend and late-night generator checks

·         Perform minor carpentry work on MTNT property when needed

·         Respond to emergencies, outages, and after-hours calls as necessary

·         Install and maintain overhead and underground electrical equipment

·         Assist lineman by supplying tools, materials, and equipment during electrical line work

·         Clean and organize equipment and facilities

 

Essential Job Functions:

·         Operate and monitor power plant equipment to ensure continuous generation of electricity.

·         Operate and maintain heavy and specialized equipment to support plant operations and maintenance activities.

·         Maintain and organize equipment, tools, and supplies for efficient operation.

·         Perform basic electrical line work under the direct supervision of a qualified lineman, such as handling conductors, installing hardware, and assisting with pole work.

·         ​Ensure compliance with safety protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E), and utility regulations.

 

Education and Experience:

·         Highschool Diploma or GED

·         Basic Understanding of electrical generation

·         Basic Understanding of mechanical systems
