Job Description
Western State Hospital is seeking qualified candidates to assist in the treatment of acute care patients and assist in the provision of psychological service needs. This position works under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and helps to meet patient needs by implementing group discussion, individual meetings, providing competency to stand trial services, observation of behavior, as well as the development and implementation of therapeutic treatment plans and participation in therapeutic activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated training, education, and/or experience in behavioral health or human services
• Basic computer skills
• Demonstrated experience working effectively in an interdisciplinary team setting with individuals who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds
• Prior experience beyond an introductory level within a behavioral health setting involving individual and/or group facilitation
• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

• College level coursework and/or certification in Psychology, Human Services, or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience working with justice-involved psychiatric populations preferred.
• Bi-lingual Spanish-English preferred

Special Requirements

The applicant must have the ability to perform at the level of physical demands noted on the Employee Work Profile and the verified ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
