Media Relations Associate
A reputable Investment Management company is currently seeking candidates for a Media Relations Associate opportunity located in Boston, MA 02199. The Media Relations Associate will work closely with the head of Americas and international PR teams, senior management, and internal stakeholders to build the company’s brand.
This role is a 12+ month contract opportunity with compensation up to $30 per hour over a 40-hour workweek.
Responsibilities:Media Strategy: Support the management of the external media strategy for the company’s institutional and retails investment capabilities. Work closely with the head of Americas public relations and business stakeholders to articulate long-term business proposition and advise on external communications strategies for the media.
Campaigns and Initiatives: Develop and implement targeted media plans to support key business projects and marketing campaigns. Work collaboratively with broader Global Marketing team to ensure plans and messaging are aligned with global and regional strategies to maximize the impact of the PR strategy.
Corporate Biographies: Manage corporate biographies. Maintain a database of pertinent information used across the enterprise on an ongoing basis for presentations, web sites and stand-alone PDFs. Interface with individuals and respond in a timely manner to ensure high level of service.
Content Production: Proactively purpose, prepare and deliver timely and compliant content, including press releases, bylined articles, email interviews and more, to promote the company’s proposition across its target markets. Maximize positive press coverage via channels including the public website and client communications.
Closed End Fund Disclosures and Press Releases: Manage the twice-monthly process for disseminating press releases and related web site postings for the company’s line of closed end funds. Interface with key stakeholder groups to ensure data integrity and compliance. Manage the public release using external vendor and marketing partners.
Media and PR agency relationships: Assist international PR team as needed in the management of external PR agencies in key markets.
Process and Procedures: Maintain the company’s external communications processes and procedures documentation, ensuring that communications are compliant and timely. Assist as necessary in the PR department's administrative activities in partnership with the regional PR agencies which may include the development and maintenance of vendor relationships, overseeing media databases and customizing press lists and researching editorial calendars to maximize opportunities.
Media Monitoring and Measurement: Support the team's efforts to monitor press coverage and report on effectiveness. Work jointly with members of the PR team to provide and contribute to a quarterly report summarizing media interaction and press coverage and manage the distribution of media coverage internally via an external provider tool.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree
3-5 years plus of external communications experience in a global corporate communications or agency environment
Prior experience working with an investment management or financial services organization
Background in digital/social media is a plus
Understanding of industry trends and with a familiarity of major policy and regulatory issues affecting the asset management industry globally, and in the Americas specifically (US and offshore funds, US & CAD institutional)
Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of advocating for one's ideas
Detail oriented problem solver with excellent organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and juggle projects while also meeting deadlines
Project management capabilities
Proficient in MS office suite, including PowerPoint
Self-motivated and resourceful
Team player with a "can do" attitude who recognizes the importance of and embraces the firm's collaborative, long term-oriented culture
