Summary:
Work in a fast paced environment to support state of the art microwave subsystems for use in high reliability military applications. Primary responsibilities include the mechanical design, analysis, and packaging of electromechanical systems. Other responsibilities will include manufacturing support, design of tooling to support operations, and mentoring young engineers.

Responsibilities

Work on multidisciplinary teams to develop mechanical layouts and designs for electromechanical systems used in military applications.
Perform mechanical analyses, such as thermal, structural, weight and tolerance analysis on hardware to validate designs.
Support testing activities to verify design integrity. Generate detailed layout models utilizing SolidWorks and DraftSight and create fabrication drawings and other documentation
Take leadership role in resolving technical issues.
Lead for mechanical design, tooling and documentation of high complexity electronic modules, subsystems and programs.
Provide overall mechanical expertise on multi-programs and subsystems, including primary interface with customers and coordination of program standards. Create, check and release formal documentation and/or directs design staff to execute task.
Provide engineering support to production on existing products as required.
Write-up Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to production drawings, support failure analysis and corrective actions implementation.
Prepare and present technical information to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor's Degree
3+ years engineering experience in a high-tech industry.
3+ years experience with 3D modeling software (preferably SolidWorks) and a 2D CAD package such as DraftSight or AutoCAD.
2+ years experience (work or internship) machine design, materials, heat transfer, and vibrations.
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance which requires USA Citizenship.

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
Experience in Microwave/Millimeter wave packaging.
Minimum 2 years experience in a defense related industry.
Understanding of machine shop processes and other metal fabricating processes.
Candidate must have great communication skills, both written and oral and must be able to coordinate efforts and work closely with a wide variety of groups within the business.
Comprehensive experience with electromechanical packaging with an emphasis on adhering to structural, thermal and weight constraints.
Firm understanding of FEA modeling software such as SolidWorks Simulation, Floworks, etc.
Knowledge with RF interconnects and connectors, cables, and related hardware.
Experienced interacting with machine shops and related metal fabrication vendors.
Understanding of enterprise wide PLM system such as SAP, Agile or equivalent.
