The Senior Accountant will support the Assistant Controller in maintaining the accounting records for the company by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts and subsidiary ledgers along with preparing the financial statements for the company as well as related reports analyzing the financial results.  This role will be involved in a broad range of activities supporting the accounting team of the organization.

Responsibilities
-Ensure integrity of accounting information by completing monthly accounting close procedures and related deliverables (maintaining general ledger, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, reports and variance analyses) in accordance with GAAP.
-Collaborate with the assistant controller to prepare and distribute monthly financial statements, management reporting packages, departmental spending reports and quarterly financials for bank compliance.
-Support the company treasury operations by monitoring daily cash activity and preparing bank reconciliations.
-Oversee the recording of monthly company credit card expenses ensuring the consistency of coding to the annual budget.
-Assist with preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and periodic forecast updates, including monthly reporting and analysis of actual expenses versus budget / forecast.
-Prepare analyses and reconciliations to support the external financial audit and tax return preparation.  Assist with various regulatory filings and tax compliance work.
-Participate in various department and/or company-wide initiatives and special projects.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
-Highly detail-oriented, organized and able to meet deadlines
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to maintain confidentiality
-Practical knowledge of accounting software.  -Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central, a plus.
-Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
-Proficient with MS - Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups
-Strong analytical skills
