SUMMARY

Assists in the processing, closing and administration of mortgage loans according to established regulations and procedures. Support the Loan Officer and gather the documentation required to support and validate a loan decision. The Loan Processor/Closer is responsible for packaging the loan and should add any necessary comments to submit the loan file in an understandable manner to the Underwriter. Ensure all loans are closed to meet Bank and Investor standards and closing packages are completed in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Review file documentation to verify compliance with Bank, regulation, and investor requirements (primarily conventional loans)

  • Make sure all documents are complete and signed by the borrowers

  • Order necessary verification documents such as title commitment, appraisal, tax transcripts, and verification forms

  • Update the Loan Origination Software to match file documentation as it is received

  • Review assets, credit, and income for qualifying purposes

  • Coordinate with Loan Officer and Underwriter to obtain loan approval

  • Assist Loan Officer with communication to borrowers, realtors, and title companies

  • Prepare loan for closing, disburse funds, and prepare the file to be shipped to investors

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

This position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results.

Valid driver’s license is required.

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

As a condition of employment, any successful job applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment screening against the Limited Denial of Participation (LDP), GSA Excluded Party List System (EPLS) and Freddie Mac Exclusionary List.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
