The Sheridan VA Healthcare System is currently recruiting for several individuals to join our team as Health Aids. These positions are located within the Sheridan Medical Center, and the Casper Community Based Outpatient Clinics.
The Health Aid is responsible for performing selected Veteran transports to different areas including but not limited to X-ray, CT Scan, MRI, Prosthetics, Sonography and other related areas. The Health aid is expected to develop and demonstrate increasing skills in performing a variety of tasks.Duties of the position include and are not limited to:
Work Schedule: will be 8:00 am to 4:30 pm OR 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Physical Requirements: Duties require extensive periods of standing and walking. Working with residents requires regular and recurring bending, lifting (not to exceed 35 pounds), reaching, carrying, stooping, stretching and similar activities.
0640 Health Aid And Technician
GS-03 grade level: Six months of generalized experience and one year above high school education with courses of study including medical, health or related fields. General experience is any type of work that demonstrates the applicant ability to perform the work of the position OR experience that provided a familiarity with the health aid occupation.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
