The Proofreader and Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for proofing Circular, Campaign, and Special Projects for formatting, spelling and punctuation at assigned stages throughout the Marketing processes. They will ensure brand and seasonal standards for copy are consistently executed, and copy is in compliance with legal standards.

The Proofreader and Graphic Design Specialist is also responsible for supporting the Graphic Design Specialist team, through the creation of impactful marketing and campaign collateral across the Circular Print program.

Essential Job FunctionsThe incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilitieswith or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Design layouts and graphic elements for circulars, catalogs, direct mail pieces, web, broadcast, etc., that adhere to company brand guidelines.
  • Assist with the development of compelling and effective layouts with creative design, product organization and communication by collaborating with marketing and buying teams.
  • Responsible to deliver assigned designs with accuracy, within brand style guide and designated timelines.
  • Thoroughly proofreads and marks copy revisions a each stage of production to ensure clear, concise and accurate communication to our customers.
  • Proofread composed work to maintain consistency and accuracy.
  • Proof own and team member pages for correct artwork, copy and color elements
  • Meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Generate and manipulate digital product and lifestyle images.
  • Be self-motivated and a problem solver.
  • Professionally correspond with Team Members and outside vendors on a regular basis.
  • Write headlines and other copy as needed within brand guidelines.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Nature of Supervision:

  • Must be able to work independently under the direction of marketing leadership. Receives fairly regular guidance and direction. Must be able to effectively work with other Team Members.


Education/Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, business administration or other related field required
  • 2+ years of related graphic design experience. Prior retail experience preferred
  • Brand experience preferred
  • Proficient in all Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Suite applications
  • Solid understanding of technical design components
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
