POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist in the development of concepts, designs and layouts for all marketing channels and point of sale. Participate in all stages of marketing campaigns to gain broad experience.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


DESIGN

  • Assist with design and execution of effective and on-brand creative for direct mail, point of sale, internal marketing, emails, web pages, social media, banner ads and other digital elements used to market Shopko Optical
  • Ensure aesthetics are aligned with usability, accessibility and web standards
  • Collaborate with merchandising and marketing teams during all stages to ensure consistency of branding across all customer touchpoints
  • Assist with presenting concepts and design solutions for review and approval
  • Conduct research and competitive analysis to support concepts
  • Thoroughly review work and execute accurately within creative standards
  • Propose new ideas to inspire art direction


PRODUCTION

  • Assist with monitoring key production dates from initial direction through release and meet all established deadlines
  • Prioritize daily tasks to meet deadlines in a process-driven environment
  • Ensure design standards are consistently followed
  • Complete changes from edits and internal feedback accurately and timely


MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently pursuing or recent graduate with degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Communication or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe graphic programs with an emphasis on Adobe editing suites including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Demonstrated experience in digital design with a digital portfolio
  • Able to edit HTML email templates that render consistently across multiple clients and browsers
  • Solid understanding of four-color printing process
  • Excellent graphic design/layout/typography skills
  • Strong conceptual skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects while meeting different deadlines
  • Collaborative personality and the ability to work within a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to thrive within a fast-paced environment


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)
  • Ability to see (Near, Distance, Color, and Depth Perception)
  • Able to evaluate color
  • Able to lift 10 to 20 pounds
  • Able to view/read computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines
  • Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
