General Laborer- Powder Coat - Vacutech, LLC - Sheridan, WY

SUMMARY
This position is responsible for several tasks leading to proper order fulfillment and delivery of consistently high quality products to our customers. This role is responsible for appropriately selecting off the shelf components for a given job project, preparing the surfaces of steel and aluminum components for powdercoat, washing the parts prior to application of powder, and movement of materials and transport racks throughout the Powdercoat area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Select and organize pre-fabricated parts from storage locations in preparation for coating
  • Degrease/clean part surfaces
  • Utilize pneumatic sanders and hand sanding to prepare surfaces of parts prior to washing
  • Organize and place parts onto transport racks in preparation for powder application
  • Wash parts to remove residual contaminants prior to powder application
  • Move transport racks throughout Powdercoat area to facilitate out-gassing of components, powder application, and cure.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly and 70 lbs occasionally

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of steel structures
  • Mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing
  • Participate and be active in your team’s efforts to continuous improvement
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration on the production floor. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
