The Facilities Specialist maintains a clean, safe and healthy environment for student success at Sheridan College.

Reports To
Custodial Supervisor
Education/Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver License
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Possess a good attitude
  • Understanding of cleaning procedures and techniques per assigned area(s)
  • Able to read and write
  • Respond to verbal and written instructions
  • Assist with painting, light carpentry, minor plumbing repair, preventive maintenance, check and service fire extinguishers, light bulbs replacement.
  • Work well within a team
  • Assist in snow removal on campus
  • Computer skills—expected to learn how to: receive & send email, navigate the web, operate in windows environment
  • Maintain an organized work area
  • Manage duties to complete tasks per schedule
  • Maintain equipment and supplies necessary to meet needs of designated area
  • Proficiency with cleaning agents and equipment
  • Familiarity with general room and building usage
  • Aware of and follow safety procedures (SDS forms)
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Occasional evenings and weekends
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work on a ladder and work overhead

Experience

One-two years of custodial experience preferred.
