Full Time: 40 hours per week
GOALS OF POSITION:
The Events and Marketing Coordinator is to be responsible for planning and executing Heart of Wisconsin Chamber events. Key duties include planning events, creating and adhering to event budgets, set up/tear down of events, managing events, soliciting sponsors or partner organizations, creating coordinated marketing & design pieces, and promoting events via social media, internet, print, & radio.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate events and the production, design, and delivery of communications for the organization to members and public --- i.e.
- Organize, plan and develop projects and events the Chamber facilitates such as Lunch by the River, Gather by the Gazebo, Hometown Halloween, Coffee with the Chamber, Rekindle the Spirit, Mardi Gras Business Expo, Nekoosa Easter, Rendezvous in the Park, Working Women’s Luncheons, Nekoosa Hometown Christmas, Grand Affair, Annual Meeting, Cranberry Blossom Fest, and other events as needed
- Development and implementation of HOW Communications plan
- Monthly Newsletter and Weekly e-updates
- Media presence (Newspaper/Radio/TV) including Press Releases
- Publication of brochures, guides, flyers, ads, and any other promotional material
- Web site development and maintenance
- Post and maintain HOW social media platforms
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support to staff and performing other duties as assigned by the president
- Bringing to the attention of the president trends, incidents, actions and events which affect the membership/business community/organization
- Engage in a continuing program of self-improvement
- Keep up to date with trends in the fields of Chamber organizations and communications
- Operate office equipment
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Associates degree in business, communications, marketing or a related field
Experience
Work experience preferred in a related field
Skills
· Strong customer service skills, including outstanding oral and written communication
· Must have the ability to plan and organize programs
· Event planning and organization
· Detailed oriented, establish positive membership/customer relationships
· Website maintenance
· Graphic Design including Adobe Suites
· Excellent Computer Skills
· Social media communication experience
