JOB SUMMARY

Accountable for the management of daily operations in the ED to include: management of human, fiscal and other resources; personnel management functions including development of personnel; compliance with regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning, and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships with area(s) of responsibility, support and lead Performance Improvement and the health care institution as a whole.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and/or experience: Current TN Registered Nurse license required. Masters in Business Administration, Masters in Healthcare Administration or Masters in Nursing required. Current certification in ACLS, BLS, PALS (or ENPC), and TNCC or completion within one year of hire.Strong management skills required. Academic and continuing education experience in management and leadership; self-directed; exhibits positive attitude in interaction with clients, hospital staff and medical staff. Committed to professional development and excellence.

Knowledge: Knowledge of ED management and operation. Knowledge of regulatory and professional standards. Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions. Emergency Medical Records experience required.

Abilities/Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with a positive manner with patients, families, visitors, health care team, physicians, administrators, leadership and others. Ability to demonstrate emotional maturity by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively. Ability to use computer and learn new software programs. Ability to document and communicate pertinent information using computer and paper documentation tools. Ability to prioritize, multitask and organize efficiently and effectively. Ability to think critically and problem solve while remaining focused and organized in a stressful and fast paced environment. Ability to work flexible hours and days to meet facility needs. Ability to promote a collaborative work environment.
