The Opportunity:
John Schneider and Associates, Inc. (JSA) is seeking to hire a Business Development Associate who flourishes in a role that promises a variety of tasks to support customers, our technical sales team, and business growth. Under the direction of the Business Development Manager, the associate will work closely with the customers and our technical sales team to sell, service and generate business.

Market Leader | JSA is the largest full-service finishing supplier in the Midwest selling chemicals and equipment for the metal finishing industry.

Strategy | The sales team can go into any account and have something to offer the customer including proprietary products as well as new technologies in equipment, chemical processes, wastewater treatment, and services from the diverse supplier network with whom JSA partners.

Support| In this team environment, you will be mentored and soon able to support your technical sales teammates, grow and manage your own region, and contribute ideas and effort to business development projects including marketing, and website development as your skillset and interest allows.

Input | The associates and leadership at JSA welcome your ideas in order to grow this business and will count on on you to help them execute the team’s growth strategy.

Profit | The Business Development Associate will be guaranteed a base compensation plus can grow their income through uncapped commission on sales.

The Company:
JSA was founded in 1952 by John Schneider and is a privately held company. JSA’s sales force sells and services customers in 10 states here in the Midwest. These sales efforts are supported by our Business Development Manager and our President. JSA’s customers and sales team are also supported by an excellent staff in our corporate office, which handle all of the necessary customer service functions.

JSA sells and services proprietary chemistry and equipment for businesses that cut, clean, and coat metal and plastic substrates. Since 1952, JSA has been supplying complete turnkey equipment and waste treatment systems for automatic or manual metal finishing applications.

The Location:
The corporate office is in Mequon, WI. This position will sell and service select accounts in the state of Wisconsin.

What the Role Entails:
This role can evolve as the Business Development Associate expands their knowledge and value. A portion of the work will be done out of the corporate office location in Mequon (inside sales, lab support, and business development) and a portion of the role will entail customer sales and onsite service and support.

  • Support the operations of the sales team: in-the-field customer sales and service, assisting with customer inquiries and service requests, assisting suppliers and JSA sales team with quote generation.
  • Manage the onsite lab in the corporate office: process parts, prepare samples, run chemical analysis, maintain proper safety and storage of in-house samples, manage technical data sheets (TDSs).
  • Learn to support, service and sell into regional accounts and generate new business: manage your own accounts for new business as we launch new products as well as being to service and sell into our existing book of business.
  • Assist with business development efforts: product/services marketing and promotion (electronic, direct mail, website), communicate inquiries and leads to the field sales team, preparing for sales meetings, tradeshows and training seminars.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
