Our Gaithersburg, Maryland facility creates life-changing medicines for people around the world. As the Associate Project Manager, you will support successful delivery of large, complex, cross-functional strategic projects globally across multiple Oncology R&D functions and sites. You will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of projects, prioritizing your work in alignment with the Oncology R&D strategy, applying structured project management tools and actively building standard methodology project management capabilities within Operational Management. Your key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Builds practical and implementable project plans, that are well-aligned to project vision and scope, to ensure sustainable, impactful solutions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Drives cross-functional project teams to ensure successful delivery of projects
  • Tracks and reports on the progress of assigned projects to the appropriate governance, partners, and senior management.
  • Reports project issues and risks, including concerns, as appropriate.
  • Supports and contributes to preparation of project updates to appropriate steering committees, business planning and operation network, Oncology R&D Leadership Team (ORD LT), and other key partners. Ensures all key partners are always kept appropriately informed of project status.
  • Contributes to and demonstrates best practices for project planning and execution that are fit-for-purpose.
  • Enables delivery of Oncology R&D objectives and supports the broader community.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, related operations/manufacturing field or business
  • 4 plus years of Project Management experience
  • Proven track record of success in delivering projects timely, on-budget and to committed results to generate significant business value
  • Takes appropriate initiative and accountability including proactively prioritizing work in alignment with business requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communications skills
  • Experienced in using MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel

Desired Skills:

  • 4 plus years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Strong team management skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and fast pace

This role can be based at our Gaithersburg, MD or Cambridge, UK location
