DESCRIPTION

Ammo Loading Technician is responsible for autoloading, hand-loading, priming, inspecting, and packing of Weatherby ammunition.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Loading and unloading parts from machines, carts, and dollies.
  • Sorting ammunition casings visually meeting production expectations.
  • Filling automated machines with cartridge casings for loading.
  • Packaging ammunition into boxes meeting production expectations.
  • Sweeping and cleaning up work areas within the production work area.
  • Starting up and maintaining production equipment for projectiles and ammunition.
  • Making adjustments to production equipment and machines.
  • Operating automated and manual loading machines.
  • Performing quality control and inspection of production output.


ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma, GED or minimum 12 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Competencies

  • Communication Proficiency
    • Excellent English language written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and barcode labels.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Technical Capacity
    • Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.
    • Ability to use and read measuring instruments.
  • Problem Solving/Analysis
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MEASURES

  • Ensure that assigned orders are completed according to schedule.
  • Maintain quality standards as set forth by Weatherby.
  • Meet objective goals assigned during performance coaching.
  • Maintain Housekeeping and safety standards as set by Weatherby.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to acknowledge:

  • Working expectations: ability to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee will be subject to prolonged standing. The employee must be able to manipulate and assemble small parts. Or This is largely a sedentary role, however while performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Weight requirement: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 62 pounds and push/pull up to 67 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, this position operates in a manufacturing environment and will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in this work environment can be loud. Ability to focus and retain attention to detail for an extended period of time in an unaccompanied work environment.
