Full Job Description

Sheridan County School District 2 is seeking positive, professional, and energetic individuals to work in our After School Program. The assigned location for this position may vary throughout the school year.

  • Individuals who hold Standard PTSB certification will be paid $38.00/hour
  • Students currently enrolled in an education program with a college or university and individuals who hold Substitute PTSB certification will be paid $20.00/hour.
  • All other employees will be placed on the Paraprofessional wage schedule as outlined below.

QUALIFICATIONS: Current Standard or Substitute Certification through the Professional Teaching Standards Board, verification of current enrollment in an education program through a college or university, or high school graduate or equivalent

REPORTS TO: Building Principal, After School Program Coordinator, Asst. Superintendent

JOB GOAL: To design and teach STEM-related after school classes incorporating elements of social-emotional learning opportunities; retain students as program participants; manage student behavior; perform assigned tasks related to grant compliance with good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organize, plan, and teach After School Program content consistent with all proposal specifications and grant requirements.
  • Create an environment of respect and rapport in the After School Program.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with administrators, site coordinator, community leaders, and staff, and seek to resolve problems in a professional manner.
  • Organize and care for program supplies and equipment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment relationship with the District is at will and of indefinite duration. Hours to be established by supervisor; salary and fringe benefits to be set by the Board of Trustees.

Placement on any of the Classified (Hourly) Wage Schedules for all new employees will be based solely on an individual’s years of job-related experience:

  • School district experience (full time): One (1) year of job-related experience equals one (1) step on the wage schedule, up to step seven (7)
  • School district experience (substitute) & non-school district experience: Three (3) years of job-related experience equals one (1) step on the wage schedule, up to step seven (7)
  • placement beyond step seven (7) requires approval from the Superintendent

Upon board approval, eligible staff move one (1) step on the wage schedule annually, except in those years when the Board of Trustees sets a wage freeze due to budget constraints.
