ABOUT THE JOB
The Westchester Avenue Community Residence (Bronx, NY) provides family-oriented and supportive Child and Teen Services to boys and girls, ages of 15-18 years’ old who are struggling with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses, emotional crises, mental health, and behavioral issues. Under their individualized service plans, youth receive comprehensive clinical treatment and education, and are able to develop independent living skills and adaptive coping strategies for managing of their emotional and behavioral issues in order transition back into their home communities.
The direct support professionals at Westchester Ave CR work directly with adolescents in residence, assisting them to meet their treatment plans, and ensuring that their independent living skills are implemented daily. Acting as a positive role model and providing therapeutic parenting, the direct support professional is charged with the fundamental responsibility of the client’s health and safety. This is direct support role in the Bronx.
