SUMMARY

The Safety Analyst is responsible for supporting the safety functions within Flight Operations, Maintenance, Cargo Operations, and Station Operations. Utilizing Amerijet’s’ Safety Management System (SMS) this position will support the Safety Programs of IEP, ASAP, MSAP, and FOQA. This position will coordinate efforts across the company to implement policies, procedures, and practices that will assist the Manager of Operational Safety in interfacing with regulatory authorities. The Safety Analyst will identify, assess, and evaluate corporate, operational, and human processes through Safety Risk Management (SRM), this will continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness company’s safety policy and mission. This position is also responsible for management and administration of department/program meetings, documentation, reports, and presentations.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:

 

Support the Safety Department through analysis and processing of risk data collected across the safety systems and tools:
Monitor and analyze SRM data and KPIs for trends.
Conduct data analysis to provide in-depth insight into underlying contributing factors to data trends.
Develop trend analysis reports from data/information contained in Safety data bases and platforms:
Prepare factual and statistically analyses, reports, and briefings on safety trends and issues identified through AJI programs, tools, and platforms.
Provide Safety data analysis to support AJI’s Safety Review Board (SRB).
Prepare Safety Review Board progress reports.
Assist the assigned management team with Safety processes and procedures including coordinating efforts of Amerijet department interfaces to maintain the overall Safety programs and tools.
Assist with development of continuous improvement efforts, documentation of processes, procedures, and controls and maintain policies and procedures in Amerijet Safety manual.
Plan, coordinate and conduct appropriate Safety training for assigned organizational teams.
Participate in airline industry safety conferences, groups, and associations to include domestic and international travel.
Interface with FAA on corrective actions that must be taken to ensure Amerijet’s Safety programs and tools are compliant with regulations.
Prepare Safety Management status updates for the Amerijet leadership team.
Support product users with system and process training.
Provide internal customer product support.
Safety Department program support.
Assist with the coordination, planning, and execution of annual company-wide safety events
Assist with internal safety investigations as assigned.
Support and perform safety surveillance activities across multiple shifts to maintain safety oversight in a 24-hour operational setting.
Other duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/MEASUREMENTS.

Support SRM processes across divisional groups (Flight Operations, Technical Operations, Cardo Operations etc.)
Provide factual statistical analysis of safety reports identified through the SMS platform or any other company tool or platform.
Collect data to be presented in Safety Review Boards
Prepare and conduct initial training for new hires
Conduct appropriate Safety training for assigned organizational teams
Support IEP by conducting the assigned audits

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in aviation or a related field preferred.
Formal safety management training, accident investigation training, or prior analyst experience working within a 14 CFR Part 121 Safety Investigations or programs.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI, etc.).
Working knowledge of regulations and standards governing commercial aviation (ICAO, FAA, NTSB, IOSA).
Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 5 and Safety Management System (SMS) principles and applications.
Broad knowledge of airline maintenance, flight operations, dispatch, ground operations, and commercial aviation regulations desired.
Broad knowledge of aviation reporting systems, safety principles, and Just Culture.
Working knowledge of SMS platform (ProSafeT) preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

 

Three (3) or more years of relevant aviation industry experience in safety, safety programs, or a related field.
One (1) or more years of analytical experience.
Experience and/or training in Human Factors, aviation safety investigations, and Root Cause Analysis.
Experience in aviation operations (FAA certificated Pilot, A&P, Dispatcher and/or work experience in an operational role at a Part 121 air carrier).

Ability to conduct or support data and/or statistical analyses to provide meaningful and actionable insight that improve Amerijet’s safety performance.
Ability to learn and understand new software in detail.
Ability to confidently lead meetings which include members from the FAA, union(s), and company managers or directors.
Excellent communication and presentation skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).
Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
