What You'll Be Doing in the role of Product Strategist

At Susan G Komen, we leverage a variety of business solutions, across our organization, to acquire, engage and retain fundraisers to support our mission. As Product Strategist – Experiential Programs, you'll play an integral role in ensuring that we're using the right business solutions to their full potential to meet ongoing business needs and support our corporate mission. This position will work in lockstep with business leaders to create a clear strategic direction that will be delivered by the product development team (internal and external resources).

Building our products and platforms is a highly collaborative process.  Relationships are paramount and strong communication skills are key. In this role, you’ll act as the liaison between business users and technical resources. This includes supporting the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

The main responsibility of the Product Strategist – Experiential Programs is product strategy and planning. The Product Manager is the leader, coordinator, and agitator in the product lifecycle, but he/she is not the sole decision maker.  The position has a large responsibility, with support and authorization by the business, to decide what to do, or what not to do, in the scope of the Peer-2-Peer (P2P) platform. This position requires a strong persuasion ability to persuade others and often think about what kind of P2P platform can make a compelling and engaging user experience and strong fundraising results. The candidate must have good logical thinking and excellent communication skills but also have leadership skills to guide the team.

What You Will Bring to the Table

In collaboration with the P2P business team, engineering, operations, marketing, and other teams; as well as incorporating feedback and input from customers and external partners define the product strategy, find ways to expand product market reach, and ensure successful rollout and usage of the solution by market teams and end users/fundraisers.

Direct the team with a clear and descriptive set of requirements and deliver product features and functions by balancing customer needs with business strategy, and minimizing defects, and technical debt.

Work with business teams to build supporting analyses for budgets and forecasts.

Conduct business and systems process analysis, at a complex level, resulting in data, process, and software documentation and improvement recommendations. Analyze end-user needs and feedback.

Work with key stakeholders and product teams (P2P, Engineering, Marketing, Digital, Finance, etc.) to rank business requirements, and plan release rollouts.

Work with cross-functional (process, design, build, test) teams to deliver features and products.

Communicate with senior leaders and provide reports and analytics of product performance.

We Already Know You Will Also Have

Ability to facilitate a team to consensus on the scope, design decisions, and implementation decisions.

Ability to document requirements formally or informally depending on the need of the project.

Understanding of the agile development process.

Familiarity with requirements techniques such as user stories, use cases, and informal modeling.

Familiarity working with an integrated P2P solution ecosystem.

Experience working with and integrating with CRM, Email & Reporting platforms is a plus.

Must have a comprehensive working knowledge of Luminate Online and Teamraiser.

Work Experience: At least 5 Years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Manager/Owner, or other relevant fields.

Education: Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
