Compensation: $30.76/hour

Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift

Skookum is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Steam Fitter/ Welder with a positive attitude.

 

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Performs metal work and sheet metal work to buildings, structures, and facilities to include, but not be limited to metal components, security systems, duct work.
Maintains, repairs, assembles, and creates pipe and piping systems.
Fabricates, installs, repairs, and replaces parts or completes assemblies as required for metal components of buildings (except door hardware), metal parts of installed building equipment, dining facility equipment, kitchen equipment, utility systems, roadway structures, drainage and walks to secure pilferable items.
Properly and safely welds all metals in body and framework.
Accomplish minor repairs and perform services as outlined in established technical manuals.

Qualifications:

ASME or AWS Certified.
Experience in all areas of facility/industrial maintenance preferred.
Must be able to read and interpret pipe specifications, create wall openings for piping, measure pipe width/ length, understanding different types of pipes, and effectively using pipe testing equipment.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours, such as back shift and weekends, in the event of unplanned maintenance and repairs.
Prior experience in TIG welding is also preferable but not required.
Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

Position may require working in high places such as scaffolding, ladders, man baskets, and/or cherry pickers.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

Requirements:

Valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance carrier.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
