We are seeking a highly motivated LVS Software Developer, Entry-Level to support Department of Defense (DoD) efforts focused on End Game Analysis (EGA) and the development of software tools to characterize lethality, vulnerability, and survivability (LVS). This position involves supporting Government EGA personnel to design, develop, test, verify, and validate software tools used to model warhead fragmentation, blast overpressure, collateral damage, and safe separation distances. This position is contingent on Government funding.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support to Government End Game Analysis (EGA) personnel in the development of LVS software tools.
Design, develop, test, verify, and validate software applications for characterizing lethality, collateral damage, and safe separation estimations.
Develop modeling and simulation (M&S) and analysis tools in support of LVS and EGA requirements.
Perform studies to characterize warhead effectiveness and performance against various target types.
Conduct simulations and analysis to determine collateral damage estimates and safe separation distances for a wide range of warhead systems.
Use 3D simulations and virtual modeling environments to evaluate target damage, collateral effects, and blast radius.
Create and modify 3D target models using CAD software.
Design and write code within a Software Configuration Management (SCM) environment, collaborating with a team of scientists and engineers.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, primarily in C/C++.
Participate in debugging, code reviews, and performance optimization.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field.
0-5 years of experience in software development.
Proficiency in C and C++ programming in a Windows environment using Visual Studio.
Familiarity with the Linux environment is desirable but not required.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience with 3D modeling and CAD software for virtual environments.
Exposure to physics-based modeling of ballistics, blast, or damage effects.
Familiarity with DoD simulation tools or frameworks.
Experience using Git or other SCM tools in a collaborative software development environment.
U.S. Citizenship with an active SECRET security clearance is required.
Physical Description
Employees in these roles will work in a typical office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and video conferencing tools. Responsibilities include regular use of computer software, engaging with diverse personnel, participating in meetings, and contributing to team objectives by delivering timely outcomes and generating reports. Key duties involve effectively receiving and communicating information.
The role may allow for occasional telework and may require flexible shifts or hours to meet organizational needs and business demands. Periodic travel may also be necessary to support assigned tasks.
