Part-time Relief Aide (20 to 29 hours)

Position Summary: The incumbent of this position will perform duties under the direct supervision of a Senior Shift Counselor. The position will include duties that support, monitor and supervise the flow of patient activities. The incumbent will work towards maintaining a "continual awareness" on the unit providing a safe and secure environment. Additionally, the incumbent of this position may be required to work extended hours in order to carry out desired clinical goals and objectives.

Education and Training: Two-year degree, preferably in Human Services or Social Services; or High School diplomas or equivalency and 1 year of experience providing direct client services, or 6 months to 1 year of satisfactory experience in a residential setting.

Experience and Work Knowledge: High school diploma and 1 year in a residential setting or associate degree in Human Services.

Physical Demands: No extraordinary physical demands required.

Essential Duties:

Some of his/her duties will involve but not be limited to the following:

1. Maintain unit safety at all times

2. Monitor all activities during the specific shift he/she is working

3. Monitor patient's free-time through healthy role modeling

4. Co-facilitate physical education groups, psycho-educational groups and daily schedule

5. Transport patients to and from self-help meetings in the agency van

6. Complete necessary paperwork and documentation appropriate for his/her position
