POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervise Crew Scheduling personnel and functions in compliance with government regulations, Amerijet policies and procedures, and the established Pilot Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Provide leadership, guidance, and training to the Crew Scheduling team. Assist Crew Schedulers, employees, and crewmembers with operational and administrative tasks as needed.

Support the Senior Manager of Crew Resources with staffing plans and other assigned projects or duties. Develop a thorough understanding of and proficiency in the crew scheduling software. Create and implement procedures for the department as necessary.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned from time to time.

Ensure that qualified, legal crews are maintained on all trips once trip.
Act as Crew Coordinator to maintain surveillance of each trip and reschedule crews according to their qualifications, contractual restrictions, governmental requirements and most economical reschedules.
Identify opportunities for process/policy improvement. Determine and pursue action essential to affecting change and a desired outcome.
Provide troubleshooting assistance and training support to Crew Schedulers.
Assume overall responsibility for crew scheduling operation in the absence of Crew Resources management.
Coordinate with OCC, Dispatch, Training, Planning and other departments as needed to provide operational and administrative support.
Provide counseling and performance management to Crew Schedulers.  Ensure necessary documentation is provided and maintained.
Check daily assignments and reschedule crew members because of legality or sickness and notify crews of assignments.
Maintain daily crew assignments, check-in records and records of crew time and projections.
Process and update monthly CEO briefing slide.
Work directly with vendor to resolve any AIMS, Tripeasy,  automation problems.
Work to resolve scheduling discrepancies and crewmember complaints elevated from Crew Schedulers.
Ensure adequate staffing levels for crew scheduling desk at all times.  Anticipate and provide additional staffing during periods of irregular operations or other circumstances that require additional support.
Assume management responsibility in the absence of the Sr. Manager of Crew resources .
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable CBA and FAR work rules.
Monitors, research, and resolves Crew Scheduling Software driven alerts/flags to ensure pilots are qualified to operate on flights.

Maintain a high degree of proficiency utilizing the crew scheduling software.
Consistently follows company policies and procedures, including governmental, safety and departmental standard operating procedures.
Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Handles complex issues requiring judgment and interpretation.
Achieve maximum efficiency of crews without risking the safety of the aircraft or crews.

Maintain a satisfactory attendance record within acceptable guidelines as outlined in the company employee manual.
Must be reliable and maintain confidentiality as needed.
Must be able to perform with a high level of professional accuracy.
Always maintain a rating of “good” or better on semi-annual Performance Evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Education and Experience:

Two or more years of Crew Scheduling experience, including minimum of 1 year in Crew Scheduler position
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in all areas of crew scheduling including irregular operations, crew vacation, transition, open time, bid closing, vacation relief and all computer systems.
Be a technical expert on crew scheduling computer programs (AIMS)
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor degree in aviation, management, business or related field preferred;  combination of education and work experience considered in lieu of degree
Aviation course work highly preferred
Excellent working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies & procedures, Pilot and Flight Attendant CBA’s
Ability to maintain professional telephone etiquette at all times
Developed communication and training skills
Ability to interact professionally with a diverse work group
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will not have direct reports but will be responsible for managing employees’ working time schedules.

 

Language Skills:

The employee must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions, and proficiently write reports and business correspondence.

 

Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:

Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort required.
The employee must:be able to work well under pressure; be flexible to work up to 12-hour shifts,
Be available during the overnight shifts,
Provide weekends availability
